alright, the afc and nfc championship games are just a few days away, and the winners of those two games will play in jacksonville, fl for superbowl xxxix... i know a lot of people are excited and crazy about it, but for me, since the jets and packers are already eliminated (not to mention the 49ers with a 2-14 record, sheesh!), i'm not that much interested, but still interested... hehehe!
now here are my predictions:
nfc championship game (atlanta @ philadelphia - 3:00 pm est)
- this marks the 4th straight year that the philadelphia eagles would be playing in the nfc championship game, including the last 3 at home... but their previous 3 games ended with a loss... could this be the year for donovan f. mcnabb? you betcha! even without terrell owens, the eagles would soar against michael vick and the atlanta falcons... that eagles defense will shut down the falcons' running attack of vick, warrick dunn and t.j. duckett...
14 atlanta
24 philadelphia
afc championship game (new england @ pittsburgh - 6:30 pm est)
- the new england patriots are one of the most dominant teams in the nfl, winning a record 21 straight games including the postseason, and have won 2 of the last 3 superbowls... with tom brady dictating the offense and the coaching wizardry of bill belichick, the pats have stormed to a 14-2 record this year... one of their 2 losses was at heinz field to the pittsburgh steelers, a team led by rookie quarterback ben roethlisberger, who by the way is 14-0 when starting including the postseason... the steelers also have the top-ranked defense in the entire nfl... it will be a pretty close ball game, but big ben will show signs of being a rookie, and the pats will win on the road and move on to jacksonville...
