earlier today, i was watching mellow myx, a show featuring sentimental songs on myx, and they were having a special tribute on luther vandross, one of the best r&b singers, if not the greatest r&b singer of our generation... as we all know, luther vandross passed away on july 1st, 2005... he was 54 years old...
as they played the music video "dance with my father", i got somewhat sad because it's been two weeks since his death, but the world is still mourning over the loss of an r&b legend... his last hit, "dance with my father", bagged the song of the year award at the 2004 grammys, and his other past hits include "power of love", "endless love" (with mariah carey), "i'd rather" "here and now" and "never too much"...
he will be greatly missed, and as my tribute to him, i've added "dance with my father" in my blog music player... and i'll be posting the lyrics of his song below...
