Well, there go my Super Bowl picks...

Over the past three months, I was hoping that the Indianapolis Colts would win this year's Super Bowl, but much to my dismay they got upset at home by a Pittsburgh Steelers team who obviously played better than the Colts... I guess Colts coach Tony Dungy will have to wait for at least another year...

Anyways, allow me to give you my picks on the upcoming Conference Championship games this weekend:

AFC Conference Championship Game: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos

Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer has had an MVP-type season this year as he led the Broncos to an AFC West division title and a #2 seed in the AFC Playoffs, but now he'll be facing a tough Pittsburgh defense, led by linebacker Joey Porter and Troy Polamalu... as for the Steeler offense, Ben Roethlisberger has had quite a great postseason, throwing for 5 touchdowns and only 1 interception in the last 2 games, and with a potent running game led by Jerome Bettis and Willie Parker, the Broncos need to be more aggressive on defense...

In conclusion, I predict that this is going to be a close one, but I would say that the Steelers will win on the road and move on to Detroit for Super Bowl XL, making them the first #6-seeded team to enter the Super Bowl in NFL history...

NFC Conference Championship Game: Carolina Panthers @ Seattle Seahawks

The Panthers, led by quarterback Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith, have won two games on the road this postseason, scoring an average of 26 points per game, but this time, they'll be facing the top seeded team in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks... The Seahawks are led by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who played a great game last week against the Washington Redskins, and by this year's MVP, running back Shaun Alexander, who's expected to play this Sunday after going out early in last week's game due to a concussion...

I believe that the team that has a more effective running game come Sunday will win, and I predict that Alexander will come out running wild against an impressive Panthers defense even after suffering that concussion...

So I'm predicting that the Seattle Seahawks will prevail over the Carolina Panthers and move over to the Super Bowl in Detroit...

So here's my matchup for Super Bowl XL: Pittsburgh vs. Seattle

Well, enjoy the games this weekend! I can't wait to watch those games already! Hehehe!
