wow, i haven't updated my blog for about a month now... well, anyways, just to keep it short...
first of all, congrats to the miami heat for winning the 2006 nba title over the dallas mavericks in 6 games... dwyane wade (above) was named the finals most valuable player, as he delivered for the heat's first ever nba title...
coming down from an 0-2 series deficit and winning four straight? unbelievable! and i'm glad that alonzo mourning and gary payton have finally won an nba title that has eluded them in their career...
i know i picked the detroit pistons to win it all, but hey, i didn't really want them to win, so... hooray!
next, congrats to the carolina hurricanes for winning the 2006 stanley cup over the edmonton oilers in a grueling 7-game series...
kudos to the oilers for putting up a great fight and never giving up, despite losing their top goalie dwayne roloson, and going down 1-3 in the series...

by the way, anyone here watching the 2006 world cup? as of this very moment, we're down to 8 teams... i've picked brazil before the tournament started, and i'm staying with that pick... other teams remaining include hosts germany, argentina, italy, ukraine, england, portugal, and france...
