The Italians have won their 4th World Cup Title after defeating France on penalty kicks, 5-3. The match was tied at 1-1 going into penalty kicks.
But the bigger news is the sad ending to the career of Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, who got disqualified during the match by getting a red card after ramming his head towards Italian defender Marco Materazzi.
Germany took 3rd place honors by beating Portugal.
The next World Cup will be played in South Africa in 2010.
