The ADMU Blue Eagles take Game 1 of the 2006 UAAP Men's Basketball Finals against the UST Growling Tigers in a nail-biting 73-72 victory.
The last 4 seconds of the game was pressure-packed. Down 71-70, UST's Allan Evangelista had to hit a tough jumper to give the Tigers the lead with just one second remaining in the game.
Everyone thought the game is over. Everyone thought UST will take this game. Everyone except the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Inbounding from halfcourt, Doug Kramer inexplicably got free inside and got the pass and the game-winner as time expired, giving the Eagles a 1-0 series lead.
Kramer finished the game with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while JC Intal had a game-high 21 points for the Eagles. Jervy Cruz led the Tigers with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Game 2 will be on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Also, I wanna congratulate the San Beda Red Lions for winning the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Crown over the PCU Dolphins. Led by rookie sensation Sam Ekwe, the Red Lions cruised to a 13-1 win-loss record and the #1 seed in the NCAA Final Four.
The Lions moved on to the Finals after beating the Mapua Cardinals (7-7, #4 seed) in the Final Four and faced the PCU Dolphins (10-4, #2 seed), who had to beat the defending champs the Letran Knights (10-4, #3 seed).
The first 2 games were blowouts, with Game 1 going to San Beda and Game 2 going to PCU. Game 3 went to the Lions in a one-point victory, giving them their first basketball crown in 28 years.
